Okko is awarded Plaza Interiör's Honorary Award in sustainable design for Sound Of Silence designed by Ingegerd Råman.

We are very happy and proud to have been awarded Plaza Interiör's Honorary Award in sustainable design for Sound Of Silence designed by Ingegerd Råman.

"With the panel Sound Of Silence, the design icon Ingegerd Råman has created a wave-shaped work that swallows (noice)sound and improves the acoustics in an exemplary way."

A longer interview with Okko and Råman for Plaza Interiör is in the making!

"Sound Of Silence" is an acoustic panel with its own artistic expression. The material is peat obtained and harvested directly from nature with extremely good sound absorbing properties.
Two sound absorbing panels of peat have been joined together where Ingegerd has created cavities in two layers. The repetitive pattern is varied through two different sizes of holes, the smaller hole is repeated strictly schematically and the larger ones are drawn entirely by hand, giving Sound Of Silence the best possible sound absorbing effect and a soft and lively surface.

The panels are produced as modules in the format 1 x 1.09 m and are available in all NCS colors. They are ideal as a single panel or in a composition of all sizes on both walls and ceilings.
